Passing of Time

Time flies, gives and takes.

I have been away from my craft room these last two months. I was ill in April and had no energy after work to play in my craft room.  In May, my Sweet Momma, passed away and I have not felt like crafting these last five weeks.  Time has moved on and I am pushing pretty papers around on my desk feeling the emotions of being creative surface slightly. Maybe, I will feel like playing with some paper and glue soon. My scrappy heart is still healing and I have started to re-engage with my crafty community.

In the meantime, my pretty papers have been watched over with love from my little house-cat.
So I will leave you with some photos.

See you soon, ~Tisha.

Fancy Pants Designs-True Friend Layout

We love to eat around here! Featuring a layout about our love for all things on a bun. :P
This is Fancy Pants Designs-True Friend Collection. So happy to finally cut into these playful and fun papers!

I have been itching to use the sheet with the adorable foxes and owls and I think they are beavers?  But it such a busy pattern and I couldn't figure out how I could use this playful sheet with any of my photos. I finally remembered I had these sandwich photos and thought, why not!

I used an 8.5x11 kraft sheet to house the photos. I used my Zutterbinder to make a notebook edge and I also used my Martha Stewart score board to make random embossed lines on the sheet. And because I was on a roll, I added some orange paint streaks. It was a colorful day in the craft room!

I love the tags from the collection and thought they would be perfect stacked at the bottom. I know hoagies are the "big deal". :)

I also scored lines around the teal corner piece and the geometric banner under the photos. I really like the extra pop the embossed lines created.

Hope you are able to find some hoagie love today!
Happy Friday!! ~ Tisha

Crate Paper-Craft Market & Maggie Holmes Layout

So happy Spring is really here and along with it, a new box of goodies!! So excited to play with my NEW Craft Market and Maggie Holmes lovelies.  This layout started before I came down with a horrible head and was finished while I was on a horrible head cold. At first I thought I went a little over the top. But now I am thinking, it is what I do sometimes. :p

I absolutely had to use the Open Book paper with the large muted black stripes. It all started there. Then I decided I should use some of the Craft Market ephemera because there is a ton of pieces in that package. So I layered some elements popping out of the craft bag behind the photo. Later I decided that was too much paper, so I added in some wood elements to break up the monotony of all those paper pieces.

I used part of my precious piece of Craft Market glitter chevron burlap under the photo. Love this piece of burlap!! The burlap is adhered to a thin piece of craft paper. I suppose one is to leave it on, but I pulled it off as I wanted the burlap to have more flexibility and to fray a bit.

I did use hot glue gun to adhere things on this page. Everything but the photo. First time using hot glue gun on a scrapbook page, I felt like a wild woman! I needed the glue gun to adhere the burlap since I had pulled the paper off the back of it. And just kept on using it for the rest of the page.

I had finally gotten the package of  Crate Paper gold glitter word thickers. I must say, I was a tad disappointed that the words had bare spots where the glitter came off. But maybe, I had high expectations since I had to wait so long to find these babies!

Well, there she is! My over the top, glittered up, burlaped, embellished page!
Have a wonderful Thursday!  ~Tisha

Fancy Pants Design- Burlap and Bouquets Layout

I am playing again with my Burlap and Bouquets collection. :)  I pulled out couple pictures to add to my sister's wedding album and thought this collection would go well with the photos. I love the soft earth tones with the beautiful floral patterns.

For my background, I did use the wood grain side of another Fancy Pants collection. But I love this piece of paper, I think it is part of a circus line? :)

I had to dress up the plain kraft bag with some  gold Art Anthology Modeling Paste using a stencil. I thought about adding another bow but it did not feel right, so I grabbed this butterfly clip, and perfect! I also decide to cut the 3x4 floral card into a tag shape.

I continued the flow of the modeling paste to the lower right corner and added my (brief) journaling with the tiny alpha stickers that came with the collection.

And I can't say exactly why, but I love this tiny bow tied around the "document" sticker. It just touches my crafty heart. To add dimension to the burlap stickers, I adhered small pieces of scrap chipboard and then adhered to the vellum doily.

Wish all days could be this enjoyable, just playing with papers!
Have a marvelous Thursday.  ~Tisha

Facebook Challenge-Return to an Older Collection!

Last month (February), the challenge at NicoleJones911's Facebook group was to use product from an older collection in your stash. Facebook Group Link I went with my collection of Capture Life from Echo Park.  I love this collection but have not used much from it.

I love the heart film slides paper and decided to create layout with it. I grabbed some  photos of my cats loving on each other. It went together simply.

I supplemented the Capture Life collection with some brads and buttons from different Teresa Collins collections and American Crafts Thickers. However, I did use the stickers from the Capture Life that were "too cute" to use before this layout.  I really enjoyed the challenge using up an older collection!

Have a marvelous Friday! ~Tisha

Pink Paislee-Bella Rouge Layouts!

What could be more delightful than playing with the beautiful papers in the Bella Rouge collection? Well, creating two layouts of my sweet sisters and Mom!

First Up:

Nevermind the crazy photos, Mom is used to this. :)  I really started this layout from some leftover packaging materials! At a crop last year, I had used a stencil to make some pink hearts with modeling paste. Before cleaning my stencil, I laid it down on the packaging that paper collections come in to rub the excess paste off. Later that night, I discovered I loved that piece of plastic with pink hearts and kept it. :)

So it became the starting point for these photos of my sister and I being silly with our sweet momma! Along with these darling flowers in the collection!

It is playing with paper and embellishments that keep me up way too late at night!

Second Layout:

While I had all the Bella Rouge papers out, I went ahead and scrapped this old 5x7 photo that was tucked away in a book. I thought the colors in the photo went perfect with this collection!

I used some crinkled tissue paper behind the layered papers and then offset the photos with a column of the diecuts from the collection. The top heart is originally white, but I needed a bit of black there for balance. I painted over it with Black Heidi Swapp Mist and quickly rubbed it so the silver foil would show.

Of course, used some more of those adorable flowers! Then I finished the layout with sewing a thin strip of paper to the top and bottom.

I am just loving the black, gray, and pinks of this collection. Oh, so yummy!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a marvelous Wednesday.

Winter Layout Share

We enjoyed our recent snow days and being tucked away inside our little home. I played in the craft room one day and pulled a photo from the 2012 snow storm to scrapbook. I used bits and pieces from different collections for this layout. I knew I wanted to keep color to a minimum for my snow page.

I used two different white cardstocks for the background. I trimmed a white swiss dot cardstock to go on top of a white canvas texture cardstock. It is difficult to see on photos, but makes a nice presentation.

My color choice was navy to offset the gray, silver, and white. I had some leftover Teresa Collins Urban Market tags and buttons. I love the contrast the elements made with the white and night snow pictures. I painted the wood veneer stars with tinsel mist for a lovely dark gray color.

I punched some vellum circles to add randomly across the page for a little extra softness and cut the Urban Market tags in half to use both tops and bottoms on the page.

I was thinking I should have taken my snowy layout outside to photo against our snowy background.  But I was too comfy in my pjs to do that! Ha!

Have a marvelous week!  ~ Tisha

Teresa Collins-Life Emporium Layout

Modeling Paste is so much fun to play with when I have some sturdy paper to use with the it. Which is one of the things I love about the Emporium collection, thick, sturdy, textured papers! It has been so cold lately, that I feel slightly warmer thinking of old wood-burning fireplaces. So, why not play with some good old wood print papers!

I used a couple of stencils with different modeling paste on the background of the lovely wood print paper. But before doing this, I swiped some gesso paint across the paper and stamped some plus signs. I love that I can see the texture of the background paper where the gesso is slightly covering the paper.

I wanted to use the FancyPants large navy alphabet stickers on this page, but I really don't gravitate to navy supplies and did not have any other navy alphabets to complete my title. I ended up painting some small October Afternoon alphas with the Heidi Swapp Navy color shine. It worked for me!

I kept the embellishment to a minimal so that the background paint and modeling paste would be the main embellishment of the layout.

Stay warm and thanks for clicking in, Tisha :)

Fancy Pants Designs-Burlap & Bouquets Layout

It has been very chilly around the craft room, literally. We have some wonky heating issues inside our home and even wonkier ice weather outside with mother nature. :P So, I got to work playing with some spring photos from two years ago and pairing with my current favorite Fancy Pants papers, Burlap and Bouquets. I had to get some of this paper as soon as I saw the burlap, I am a sucker for some burlap.

Yes, I used the burlap print for the base, get as much of it showing as I could. :) I trimmed my photo down to a 4x4 and decided to elongate the design of the layout by using rectangle cuts of paper to offset my square photo.

Of course, I used a bit of my Maggie Holmes stash with the bow and a teeny scrap of paper. :) I used my gold Krylon pen to color over the Fancy Pants tiny alpha I wrote our names with in the corner. It worked well with the Maggie Holmes gold label.

I was happy to play with some pretty papers to warm my day. I hope wherever you are today, you are warm and cozy and quite happy.

Thanks for stopping by, Tisha.

Teresa Collins Nine and Co. Layout

I fell in love with this paper line as soon as I saw it. I love the contrast of the white with the mint, soft yellow, and faint coral. I knew it would go perfect with the street photos from our trip to New Orleans. Mmm, I really love the colors in this layout.

I wanted to use the globe from a MME chipboard set. I am not a world traveler and I am not missing the opportunity to use this cute globe with the gold stand. The only problem was the globe is on a pinkish background and did not go with my white cardstock layout background.

I decided to trim the globe from it's background. Before I trimmed the globe, I pulled the layers of chipboard off the image. I pulled the chipboard from the image with the image face down on my craft table so that I did not wrinkle the image.

Once the image was thin enough to cut, I trimmed the globe from the stand with my small detail scissors. I was pretty nervous free hand cutting the circle of the globe, but it did come out just fine.

I used foam dots to give the globe and stand dimension and I did layer it over another chipboard element. I also gave the globe a bit of white wash from gesso to tone down the green.

A little fun playing with paper and customizing an element!
Here's wishing you a great week! ~ Tisha

Fancy Pants Designs, Me-ology Layout!

It is always so much fun to play with pink! And I love FancyPants Designs papers. :) Perfect play day in the craft room when I get to combine pink and Fancy Pants Me-ology papers! And perfect combo for my sister's surprise birthday party photos!

I dipped into my paints with this layout. Splattering some gesso over the Maggie Holmes polk-a-dot background paper and then mixing a touch of water with peach & pink gelato over the dried gesso.

I really wanted to use the multi-colored striped Me-ology paper, so I sewed the Maggie Holmes paper onto it. First, I layered a sheet of yellow vellum between the Maggie Holmes and the bright Me-ology paper. I roughed up the Maggie Holmes paper to give it an edge over the softness of the vellum and brightness of the multi-colored background paper.

Because I couldn't stop myself, I embossed white doilies onto a piece of vellum to put under my photo. Add some black ink around the Me-ology Alpha Stickers, colored a white doily dark pink. Mostly, I had fun!

Maggie Holmes Layout and Tissue Paper

What more fun could I have with my leftover white tissue paper? Lots! I used my leftover white tissue paper as a layer element in this layout. It reminds me of vellum except it is softer and has more texture. This is a layout using more of my beloved Maggie Holmes papers and a leftover bit of tissue paper.

I love the softness the tissue paper adds in relation to the grit from the Heidi Swapp tinsel mist and then the fleurs de lis I created with modeling paste and gelatos.

I wanted to keep the layout to grey and black tones with little bits of yellow and aqua. I outlined my photo block with my silver paint pen for an extra touch of sparkle and then colored the photo corners as well.

Thanks for popping by to see my tissue paper adventure! ~Tisha :)
