Maggie Holmes Layout and Tissue Paper

What more fun could I have with my leftover white tissue paper? Lots! I used my leftover white tissue paper as a layer element in this layout. It reminds me of vellum except it is softer and has more texture. This is a layout using more of my beloved Maggie Holmes papers and a leftover bit of tissue paper.

I love the softness the tissue paper adds in relation to the grit from the Heidi Swapp tinsel mist and then the fleurs de lis I created with modeling paste and gelatos.

I wanted to keep the layout to grey and black tones with little bits of yellow and aqua. I outlined my photo block with my silver paint pen for an extra touch of sparkle and then colored the photo corners as well.

Thanks for popping by to see my tissue paper adventure! ~Tisha :)

Fun With Tissue Paper Layout!

This was a totally random technique. It really started with being fed up with rub-ons! I typically find rub-ons are too stubborn to really enjoy! Over winter break, I was playing with some of Amy Tangerine-Plus One rub-ons while watching tv in my craft room. There was leftover tissue paper on my table from wrapping a gift. So I just started rubbing! It actually looked cool, I had to use the results. Introducing my Lemon Lush and Maggie Holmes layout with an embellished tissue paper layer.

After I had the tissue paper with the yellow house rub-on adhered to it, I knew I had to use it up. I had the 6x6 pad of Lemon Lush for quite some time and never used any paper from it. So I pulled the pad out to play.

You can see the yellow house peaking out behind some of the paper on the left of the photo and then the little teal camera to the bottom right of the photo. Loved it! I expected to have the tissue paper tear, but it didn't. The house didn't completely rub off as well as the camera did. But I do like the spotted look of the house. :)

I did not have have Lemon Lush embellishments but the Maggie Holmes-Styleboard elements went beautifully with the photo and paper layers along with a found button and a leftover gold embossed camera from the Amy Tangerine Plus One stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely day, Tisha

Craftroom Tour Tickets, Now Available!

Ha-Ha! Not selling tickets, but I do have my craftroom tour open now. I am still tweaking and organizing in here, but decided it was "now or never" to get some photos up on my little blog. I know I will never have it perfectly cleaned or decorated.  :)

If you are interested in a personal tour, just head on over! I always have a pot of coffee ready.

Thanks for popping in, ~Tisha

Hello 2015!

Absolutely thrilled to welcome in the new year! Reflecting over 2014 scrappy adventures has instigated some changes for my 2015 plans. During 2014, I did the weekly LSS newsletter, designed 57 double page layouts for kits and classes, worked Saturday hours, hosted crops, and coordinated store classes. Well.... I am a tad tired! 2015, I am just going to chill and see what kind of mischief I can find in my craft room. But I am going to have a plan!

I want to change up some scrappy things for 2015. I have enjoyed reading other crafters' plans and goals. I thought I would start my first post of 2015 with my own plans. I am not a specific goal setter, more of a generalized plan setter. :) Just letting you know.

2015 Thoughts

Scrap Process/Scrap Size
I am in process of figuring out how I will scrapbook this year. I love my 12x12 albums and pages, but I want something else. Over December, I started reflecting over all the 12x12 albums I have. I want a different size to scrapbook, smaller. I am in a quandary as to what I will do. 6x8 seems too small, maybe 8.5x11 scrapping. But 8.5x11 is still not calling out to me. I want to incorporate more pocket scrapping with whatever size I go with for this year. I want to be a bit smarter as to how I am contributing to my growing album collection. It is speaking to me, my growing album size. I feel pocket scrapping will allow me document more photos that I want and then I can play with my papers to scrapbook other photos without increasing my albums at such a high rate.

Product
I am still keeping to my system of scrapping from my paper tray, but I still find I have too many papers. I plan to be even more selective with paper purchase. I will put a little more thought into the number of sheets of paper I buy from new lines. If I stick to it, I will think 4 to 5 sheets from new lines and only 2 embellishment items. I'll see if this works.

Photos
I have a sweet new camera! But I find myself still grabbing my iPad to take photos! No, I am going to learn how to maximize my new camera. I love Elise's 2014 Photo a Day challenge from Feed Your Craft. She is so inspiring! So no more grabbing the iPad!

I think I am set for 2015 plans!  Happy New Year everyone, may it sparkle and shine for everyone!
