Teresa Collins-Life Emporium Layout

Modeling Paste is so much fun to play with when I have some sturdy paper to use with the it. Which is one of the things I love about the Emporium collection, thick, sturdy, textured papers! It has been so cold lately, that I feel slightly warmer thinking of old wood-burning fireplaces. So, why not play with some good old wood print papers!

I used a couple of stencils with different modeling paste on the background of the lovely wood print paper. But before doing this, I swiped some gesso paint across the paper and stamped some plus signs. I love that I can see the texture of the background paper where the gesso is slightly covering the paper.

I wanted to use the FancyPants large navy alphabet stickers on this page, but I really don't gravitate to navy supplies and did not have any other navy alphabets to complete my title. I ended up painting some small October Afternoon alphas with the Heidi Swapp Navy color shine. It worked for me!

I kept the embellishment to a minimal so that the background paint and modeling paste would be the main embellishment of the layout.

Stay warm and thanks for clicking in, Tisha :)

Fancy Pants Designs-Burlap & Bouquets Layout

It has been very chilly around the craft room, literally. We have some wonky heating issues inside our home and even wonkier ice weather outside with mother nature. :P So, I got to work playing with some spring photos from two years ago and pairing with my current favorite Fancy Pants papers, Burlap and Bouquets. I had to get some of this paper as soon as I saw the burlap, I am a sucker for some burlap.

Yes, I used the burlap print for the base, get as much of it showing as I could. :) I trimmed my photo down to a 4x4 and decided to elongate the design of the layout by using rectangle cuts of paper to offset my square photo.

Of course, I used a bit of my Maggie Holmes stash with the bow and a teeny scrap of paper. :) I used my gold Krylon pen to color over the Fancy Pants tiny alpha I wrote our names with in the corner. It worked well with the Maggie Holmes gold label.

I was happy to play with some pretty papers to warm my day. I hope wherever you are today, you are warm and cozy and quite happy.

Thanks for stopping by, Tisha.

Teresa Collins Nine and Co. Layout

I fell in love with this paper line as soon as I saw it. I love the contrast of the white with the mint, soft yellow, and faint coral. I knew it would go perfect with the street photos from our trip to New Orleans. Mmm, I really love the colors in this layout.

I wanted to use the globe from a MME chipboard set. I am not a world traveler and I am not missing the opportunity to use this cute globe with the gold stand. The only problem was the globe is on a pinkish background and did not go with my white cardstock layout background.

I decided to trim the globe from it's background. Before I trimmed the globe, I pulled the layers of chipboard off the image. I pulled the chipboard from the image with the image face down on my craft table so that I did not wrinkle the image.

Once the image was thin enough to cut, I trimmed the globe from the stand with my small detail scissors. I was pretty nervous free hand cutting the circle of the globe, but it did come out just fine.

I used foam dots to give the globe and stand dimension and I did layer it over another chipboard element. I also gave the globe a bit of white wash from gesso to tone down the green.

A little fun playing with paper and customizing an element!
Here's wishing you a great week! ~ Tisha

Fancy Pants Designs, Me-ology Layout!

It is always so much fun to play with pink! And I love FancyPants Designs papers. :) Perfect play day in the craft room when I get to combine pink and Fancy Pants Me-ology papers! And perfect combo for my sister's surprise birthday party photos!

I dipped into my paints with this layout. Splattering some gesso over the Maggie Holmes polk-a-dot background paper and then mixing a touch of water with peach & pink gelato over the dried gesso.

I really wanted to use the multi-colored striped Me-ology paper, so I sewed the Maggie Holmes paper onto it. First, I layered a sheet of yellow vellum between the Maggie Holmes and the bright Me-ology paper. I roughed up the Maggie Holmes paper to give it an edge over the softness of the vellum and brightness of the multi-colored background paper.

Because I couldn't stop myself, I embossed white doilies onto a piece of vellum to put under my photo. Add some black ink around the Me-ology Alpha Stickers, colored a white doily dark pink. Mostly, I had fun!
