YouTube Loving and Thanking

I believe my addiction to YouTube started a year ago. LOL, it is not an addiction; but I do find I would rather pull up YouTube versus Hulu on the iPad when I am at home. So, it all started about a year ago when students kept telling me that they go to YouTube for study tips and tutoring. I, the snob I was, thought, “YouTube, isn’t that where all the cat videos and crazy kids jumping off stuff are populated?” I went to go see what my students were telling me and checked out some videos on studying and so on. Of course, I had to search scrapbook just to see while I was there.  Well, the rest is what you expect. I am in LOVE with YouTube!

Today, I share what I have learned from YouTube. Unbelievable Amazing, what all these scrappers share with the world. I, for one, am thankful. It is just so peaceful and inspiring to zone in when I am home after my chores are done for the night. Just wonderful!

Here are my highlights, just to mention some. I am truly excited to find more channels to watch and find more techniques to try!

What I am Learning and Loving:

I am now loving outlining my paper layers, I am loving layers, and I am loving curling up corners of my papers and using foam dots! Thanks to what I have learned watching MercyTiara!

A Little Bit of Fun

 My goal to scrapping is to enjoy the creative process and have something sweet to look at in my album. I love to flip through photos and find one or more to put on a layout.

I am currently enjoying glassine bags. I have just about depleted my supply!

For this layout, I had half a bag that was leftover from another project. It had been embossed using Teresa Collins Honeycomb embossing folder. I love that extra texture.

I used Maggie Holmes Styleboard as the background. Then pulled from my new 6x6 pad-PrintShop. I used vellum diecuts from the Crate Paper-Oh Darling collection. I can't remember where the big doily diecut came from, it has been waiting for a place on a layout for a bit. I added some Amy Tangerine Plus-One stickers.

A little bit of fun creating a page with some cute niece and nephew photos riding around in my niece's princess jeep.

Maggie Holmes Styleboard Layout Share

Sharing a layout I completed in response to YouTuber Kitty-Scrapper's 500 subbie challenge. I did not get it uploaded in time for the challenge, but thought I would share at large today.

The challenge was to use pattern paper as background, use two stamps, have two clusters and be 12x12 in size. 500 Subbie Challenge

I love pattern paper and I love layers and clusters and I love stamps! How could I go wrong! 

These photos are not the best. I seemed to have saved them at a low resolution for some reason.

I had fun keeping the design on an vertical placement. I tend to do a three element triangle design placement on most layouts. This was a challenge layout, so I challenged myself! :-)

I decided to tuck a smaller replicate photo above the main photo. I thought it was cute! I pop dotted some layers to create the dimension between the paper elements.

This is an embossed stamp image. I plan to do more embossed on vellum!  Those white dots are my baked pony bead dupe enamel dots!

Here is more stamping using an old, old, old creative cafe stamp and then of course the plus roller stamps in honor of Kitty Scrapper!

What's For Dinner?

This week, I created a crafty project for our kitchen. I was in the mood to create something that would be functional and pretty (an awesome crafty duo!). So I decided on a little board that I could slip weekly menus into with ease and be changeable.  This is functional, as hubby always wants to know 'what's for dinner". In hopes, he can order pizza because I don't have anything planned. I thought that just writing down our weekly dinner menu on simple index cards would be perfect. I would have a game plan and hubby could know, "what's for diner".

Hello Crafty World

Hello from my little corner of the crafty blog world! 

My first post for the world is about some new baby books coming off my craft table for my great nephews who will be joining this world this summer and fall. Just seems appropriate and all that I start with this project. Smiles! 

I absolutely love mini books! I go through spells where all I do is mini book everything and then I burn that fire down and revert to layouts. 

I have some great nephews arriving soon and wanted to use up some of my baby product stash. And yes, I did buy some new Carta Bella baby stash. So, there is that confession. Wink! 

I have a good handfull of old Paper Studio 8x8 and 6x6 page refills. I love using these page refills for mini albums. I also love-love my Zutter Bind-it-All. I will show you how I retro fit 3-ring page protectors for the bind-it-all coils. 

So my products I used were some of my 8x8 cardstock stash, my older Bella Blvd, Studio Calico wood veneer, new Carta Bella, plain chipboard, Navy Color Shine, and Zutter Coils.

I created a basic 8x8 album using chipboard cut down for front and back covers and a coil ring to bind the album with 10 pages.

I kept the inside pages pretty simple and used a formula design. Such as tags and card on right side and banners on left side. I used a q-tip dipped in Heidi Swapp Navy Color shine to paint a square border around each page. It is perfect design for adding 4x6 photos easily!

Using multiple papers and alternating the pattern adds interest when using a design formula and allows you to quickly create the album.

The front pages are different than the inside pages also for some creative interest.

In order to use my Bind-it-All on the page protectors, I need to be able to punch through the plastic. It is not easy to punch through plastic and rarely do you get a good punch. so my solution is to glue a spine cover over the edges that I will punch through with the Zutter Bind-it-All. 

I cut (10) 3x8 rectangles from pattern paper and score and fold in half. I sniped a slant angle on top and bottom so that it would be less blocky. Then, I added a thin line of glue around the edges on the inside paper. Fold the paper over the edge of the page protector. Wait for the glue to dry to the page protector. Then I just punch my zutter as I normally do!

I used some cardstock and pattern paper I had in my stash to make covers.

Now, I have 3 baby books ready to ship out! Thanks for stopping by.
